OBEY THE GIANT – The Story of Shepard Fairey
For et år siden postet vi en sak om et kickstarter-prosjekt hvor målet var å lage en film om gatekunstner Shepard Fairey, det eneste de trengte var midler. Det fikk de, og 12 måneder senere er kortfilmen et faktum. Filmen er basert på historien om Shepard Fairey fra tiden hvor han debuterte som gatekunstner samtidig som han studerte design hos Rhode Island fra 1989 til 1992. Se hele kortfilmen her.
English : A year ago we posted a story on a kickstarter project, were the goal was to make a film about street-artist Shepard Fairey. All they needed was to get funding for it. They did, and here’s the finished project. The film is based on the true story of Shepard Fairey when he started making street-art during his time at Rhode Island School of Design from 1989-1992. Raised By Wolves og CLYW har teamet opp for en utgivelse utenom det vanlige. Ikke bare er det et kult og annerledes prosjekt fra RBW, men one-take videoen er også strålende utført ( etter 50 forsøk ). Bilder etter jump’n.
English : Raised by Wolves and Canadian return top manufacturer CLYW have teamed up to release this very special Canvas yo-yo. To celebrate their collaborative project with Raised by Wolves, CLYW decided to send out Jensen Kimmitt and Charles Haycock to shoot the dopest yo-yo video you’ll watch today. Shot during the December winter in Edmonton, it took three days and over fifty takes to achieve the single shot due to the -25C weather. You can purchase the ”Varsity” yo-yo from Raised by Wolves webshop for approximately $125 USD.

JR: Blow Up Documentary
Matt Black fra Nowness har laget en mini-dokumentar om karrieren til TED prisvinner JR. I dokumentaren kalt “Blow Up” forteller JR om hvordan han startet med paste-ups av sine fotografier, samtidig som han oppsumerer kunstprosjektene han har gjort siden han startet. Ta deg fem og et halvt minutt og få med deg denne dokumentaren.
English: Matt Black from Nowness has made a mini-documentary about on the TED Prize-winning photographer JR. In the documentary called “Blow Up”, JR talks about how he started with paste-ups of his photographs, and sums up the art projects he’s done since it all started. WHATEVEREST er en “mockumentary” om den usannsynlige inspirasjonen bak Todd Terje sin kjente låt “Inspector Norse”. “Inspector Norse” er internett-aliaset til Marius Solem Johansen, en mislykket musiker som bor i en liten by, produserer “danse-videoer” og lager narkotika oppskrifter som han legger ut på YouTube. I 2012 filmet Jonathan Britnell ett sekund hver dag, hvor utgangspunktet skulle resultere i denne strålende videoen. Filmet med et canon 7D og et GoPro Hero 2 viser videoen ett sekund fra hver eneste dag i hele 2012, alt i kronologisk rekkefølge. Ikke sov på denne feel-good-videoen her.

Noisey er tilbake med nettserien “Back & Forth” , denne gang med Danny Brown og Mike Skinner. Svevende samtaler om alt fra Dizzee Rascal, Grime til dosering av hostesaft og sprite. Veldig fjernt, veldig morsomt. Danny Brown slipper debut albumet ODB på nyåret engang. Mike Skinner la som kjent ned The Streets konseptet i fjor og er igang med det nye bandet The D.O.T sammen med Rob Harvey. Vi gleder oss til å høre mer fra begge glad-guttene. Dette er en smakebit på hva vi kan forvente oss fra det kommende albumet “Outrun”, som etter planen skal lanseres tidlig 2013. Se videoen her.
