Den ene halvdelen fra La Pandilla, Alexis Diaz, er for øyeblikket i Arizona i forbindelse med “The Painted Desert Project“. Han fullførte akkurat dette veggmaleriet og som forventet er detaljnivået skyhøyt. Det, kombinert med en god idé sørger for et kunstverk av høy kvalitet. Flere bilder nedenfor.

OBEY THE GIANT – The Story of Shepard Fairey
For et år siden postet vi en sak om et kickstarter-prosjekt hvor målet var å lage en film om gatekunstner Shepard Fairey, det eneste de trengte var midler. Det fikk de, og 12 måneder senere er kortfilmen et faktum. Filmen er basert på historien om Shepard Fairey fra tiden hvor han debuterte som gatekunstner samtidig som han studerte design hos Rhode Island fra 1989 til 1992. Se hele kortfilmen her.
English : A year ago we posted a story on a kickstarter project, were the goal was to make a film about street-artist Shepard Fairey. All they needed was to get funding for it. They did, and here’s the finished project. The film is based on the true story of Shepard Fairey when he started making street-art during his time at Rhode Island School of Design from 1989-1992. Dot Dot Dot – Protester Print Release
Norske Dot Dot Dot slipper ny print 12. april i forbindelse med Reed Projects sin nye utstilling “Stencil Art Norway”. Anders Gjennestad ( Strøk ), Dolk, HaMa, Martin Whatson, MIR, Pøbel og Stein slår følge med førstnevnte hos Reed Projects i Stavanger. “Protester” kommer i fire forskjellige fargevarianter, henholdsvis rød, blå, gul og rosa. Silketrykket blir presentert i et opplag på 25 pr farge, i en størrelse på 65 x 65 cm. 10 stk av hver farge vil bli sluppet på nettet via Piece Of Sheet, mens resten går via Reed Projects. 900 kr pr stk = førstemann til mølla.

For the occasion Dot Dot Dot will be releasing a new silkscreen print named “Protester”. The print will be available in red, blue, yellow and pink, with an edition of 25 per color. 10 of each color will available online on Saturday via Piece Of Sheet, while the rest will be offered at Reed Projects the day before. Conor Harrington slipper idag et nytt print via Laz. Trykket har fått navnet “Fight Club – The Mess We Make”, og kommer i et opplag på 45. Denne gang er det snakk om et Giclée print med 22-karat gull-”leaf” med gloss. Derfor er også trykket rimelig stivt med en prislapp på nesten 9000 kr. Alle trykkene er signert og nummerert. Bradley Hard’s “Bubble-Wrap Art”
New York-kunstneren Bradley Hard produserer sine portretter på en helt unik måte. Hvordan han kom frem til at det var bobleplast han ville jobbe med er uvistt, men det vi kan slå fast er at han får frem et helt spesielt uttrykk. Hard injiserer hver individuelle boble med acrylmaling, deretter fjerner han overflødig maling fra baksiden med kirurgisk presisjon. Helt nøyaktig hvordan han klarer det er vanskelig å beskrive før en faktisk ser det. Se de utrolige bildene nedenfor.
English : The New York-based artist Bradley Hard produce his art in his own very special way. Hard injects each individual bubble of a piece of bubble wrap with acrylic paint to create these portraits. As the paint is injected into the bubbles, excess paint will drip down the back. Martin Whatson Solo-Exhibition in Paris
Martin Whatson var tidligere i Paris hvor han produserte to verk på gaten. Nå trekker Oslo-kunstneren innendørs i den franske hovedstad, nærmere sagt hos MSAGallery. Solo-utstillingen har fått navnet “The Beauty Of Grey”, mens utstillingen åpner Søndag den 24 Februar. Whatson forteller oss :
“The Beauty Of Grey” er en utstilling som skal vise kontrasten mellom det “kjedelige” i en grå betongvegg og fargene i graffitien på stencilene. Så med tittelen på utstillingen mener jeg at det fineste med en grå betongvegg er fargene den dekkes med!
English : Martin Whatson was visiting Paris back in December, producing two great murals. This time around the Oslo-based artist will be showcasing his work indoors at the MSAGallery, the 24th – 28th February. Whatson tells us :
“The Beauty Of Grey” is an exhibition that shows the contrast between the ‘boring’ grey in a concrete wall and the colours in the graffiti painted over the stencils. The title is meant to point out that the beauty of a grey wall is the colours you put on it. Les sak »

Kyle Dreier’s Food Pairings
Kyle Dreier lever av å knipse fristende bilder av mat. Dette gjør han med bravur og uten hjelp av Photoshop. Dreier har i denne bildeserien ‘teamet’ opp gastronomiske herligheter som bla. hvitvin med fisk, øl med kringler, melk med brownies, sake med sushi. Med andre ord; ulike drikkevarer og mat som passer sammen, foreviget gjennom Dreier’s strålende linse.
English : Kyle Dreier is man making a living producing tantalizing pictures of food. He does is it in style and without the use of Photoshop. In this photo series, Dreier links up gastronomic goods such as white wine with fish, beer with pretzels, sake with sushi, milk with brownies and so on. Vi er tilbake på instagram og det er også ‘Photo Of The Week’. I motsetning til oss så har dere vært ekstremt aktiv, og vi velger nå fra over 23 tusen bilder. Resultatet av dette blir selfølgelig en haug med mat-bilder, men heldigvis fant vi også noen veldige gode. Førstemann ut er byropixs fra LA. Han matchet sitt bilde med et Cary Grant-sitat på en ypperlig måte.

JR: Blow Up Documentary
Matt Black fra Nowness har laget en mini-dokumentar om karrieren til TED prisvinner JR. I dokumentaren kalt “Blow Up” forteller JR om hvordan han startet med paste-ups av sine fotografier, samtidig som han oppsumerer kunstprosjektene han har gjort siden han startet. Ta deg fem og et halvt minutt og få med deg denne dokumentaren.
English: Matt Black from Nowness has made a mini-documentary about on the TED Prize-winning photographer JR. In the documentary called “Blow Up”, JR talks about how he started with paste-ups of his photographs, and sums up the art projects he’s done since it all started. A Series of Photographs ‘I’m not there’ by Pol Úbeda Hervás
Pol Úbeda Hervás er fotografen bak denne bildeserien, som representerer en form for selvrefleksjon. Han har fjernet seg selv fra bildene, og det som gjenstår er hans sko og skygge. Vi finner dette en meget interresant innfallsvinkel, som fremmer en undring hos mottaker i henhold til hans artistiske og filosofiske uttrykk. Inspirasjonen bak bildene stammer blant annet fra hans egen uttalelse; ‘Jeg kjenner ikke igjen meg selv lenger’. Vi falt for hans rene stil, som igjen er komplementert av den mer komplekse verdien som kan ilegges tolkningen. Hans komplette tankesett bak bildene lyder som følger:
I’m not there.
How can we accept that we are changing? How can we accept we hardly recognize ourselves in certain situations? I am changing at this very moment of my life. I do not react in the same ways I used to. I am surprised. Is that me? These pictures are the way I see myself now. My shadow is there but I erase myself because I don’t know who I am any longer. The shoes remain only to make sure there is something more than… a shadow.
English : Pol Úbeda Hervás is the photographer behind a series of images, which is representing a sort of self-examination. He has removed himself from the pictures, and the remaining parts is his shoes and shadow. We consider this an interesting approach, leaving the viewer wondering what’s behind this artistic and philosophical angle he conveys. His inspiration evolves around his own words, among others, saying; ‘I don’t recognize myself anymore’.
